Advice for Mathematical Economics Majors

The Economics Department will provide general advice to prospective majors interested in Mathematical Economics. Students who have declared a Mathematical Economics Major will receive general information about the structure of the major as well as advice regarding the introductory and intermediate courses and the economics elective courses from the Economics Department.

For administrative questions, (e.g. declaring major, formal course requirements, enrollment into classes, certification that requirements have been completed) please see the Undergraduate Coordinator, Emily Romanello in the main office (Suite 150 PCPSE) or contact her at econ-ugrad@sas.upenn.edu.

For substantive questions about the mathematical economics major please contact the Associate Undergraduate Chair (Prof. Juan Pablo Atal) or the Undergraduate Chair (Prof. Francis Diebold). If the question pertains to the mathematics portion of the curriculum the economics undergraduate chair might consult with the undergraduate chair of the mathematics department. General information about the mathematics courses can be found at The Undergraduate Math Program at Penn. Specific questions about a particular mathematics course should be directed toward the Mathematics Department.

Students considering attending graduate school in economics after completing ECON 0100-2100 (formerly 001-101), please take a look at FAQ.
