Economics Day 2015

Economics Day is our annual celebration to recognize outstanding achievements by undergraduate and graduate students and exemplary teaching by economics faculty. It is made possible by the generosity of the W.P. Carey Foundation.

	Department Chair Dirk Krueger welcomed attendees and introduced the program.
The winner of the Irving B. Kravis Prize for Distinction in Undergraduate Teaching for tenure faculty was Harold Cole.	Mallesh Pai was the winner of the Irving B. Kravis Prize for Distinction in Undergraduate Teaching for tenure track faculty.
Peter Hess was the winner of the Lawrence R. Klein Prize for Outstanding Research by an Undergraduate.	Neeti Singhal received an Honorable Mention for her undergraduate research.
The Simon Kuznets Fellowship Award in Economics was shared this year by undergraduates Alexander Hasslinger (left) and Pearl Li (right).
Undergraduate Lauren Schumaker was this year's winner of the Bernard Shanbaum Prize for Excellence in Economics.
Graduate students Gloria Allione (left) and Constanza Vergara (right) were co-winners of the Edwin Mansfield Teaching Prize.
The winner of this year's Robert Summers Dissertation Fellowship in Economics was Daniel Neuhann.	Yu (Laura) Liu received the Maloof Family Dissertation Fellowship in Economics.
The Joel Popkin Graduate Student Teaching Prize in Economics was awarded to Chunzan Wu.	Daniel Hauser received the Sidney Weintraub Memorial Fellowship in Economics.
Hui Li was this year's winner of the Paul Taubman Memorial Prize for Empirical Economics Research.	The David Cass/Beth Hayes Prize for Research Accomplishment was won by Yena Park.
	Jan Tilly received the Hiram C. Haney Fellowship Award in Economics.
Naoki Aizawa (left), Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Minnesota, and Luigi Bocola (right), who currently serves as a junior scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis and has accepted a position as Assistant Professor at Northwestern University, were joint winners of the William Polk Carey Prize for the Outstanding Economics Dissertation in 2014.
