Tom Easton is the American Finance Editor at The Economist. Mr. Easton joined The Economist in 2000, and was New York bureau chief before being appointed Asian business editor in 2007. Previously he was the New York and Tokyo Bureau Chief for The Baltimore Sun, and a senior editor of Forbes. He has received several awards for his coverage on finance and China. He has done regular appearances on some of the world's major television and radio television networks. He is a graduate of Brown University, Columbia Business School and Yale Law.
