Steven Matthews

Professor of Economics

Professor Matthews is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and has taught at Penn since 1997. He is a microeconomic theorist, with a focus on applied game theory and mechanism design. His research has included the study and formulation of models of voting over time with myopic voters; auctions with risk averse participants; screening in multidimensional settings; cheap talk in abstract, market, and political environments; contract renegotiation in dynamic moral hazard settings, with applications to venture capital; information acquisition in product markets; and dynamic voluntary contribution games.
