Sneha L. Parthasarathy, a May 2025 honors graduate with a major in Mathematical Economics, has been awarded the Phi Beta Kappa Prize for the best senior thesis.  Her thesis is entitled “Thinking Outside the Hub: Venture Capital and Startup Location” (her advisors were Karun Adusumilli, Jere Behrman and Petra Todd). The objective of her thesis is to investigate the determinants of a venture capital (VC) firm’s decision to invest in different regions across the United States and how these factors have evolved over time. In the past decade, both startups and VC firms have grown increasingly concentrated in three “VC hubs”: Boston, New York, and California.
