A Grant from the Penn Fund to Encourage Women Brings Internationally Renowned Econometrician on Campus

Francesca Molinari, Professor of Economics and Statistics at Cornell University

Francesca Molinari, Professor of Economics and Statistics at Cornell University, will visit Penn on November 21st and 22nd. This visit is sponsored by the Penn Fund to Encourage Women (FEW), which was established to bring internationally renowned scholars to give lectures, serve as role models for female faculty and students, and ultimately aims to increase the number of female faculty members at Penn.

Prof. Molinari is a leading econometrician with path-breaking work in both econometric theory and empirical microeconomics. Her research uses a partial identification approach to study contaminated, corrupted, and missing data. She has been developing methods that provide reliable inference under weak assumptions.

During her two-day visit, Prof. Molinari will present her latest research in the econometrics workshop, give a public lecture to undergraduate students majoring in economics, and interact with faculty and graduate students in the department.
